It is that time of year again; where San Diego’s Gaslamp District is transformed into the French Quarter. Where the beads fly though the air and party rages on. It’s Mardi Gras!

Each year, Digitaria participates in the Gaslamp Mardi Gras Parade. A dedicated team of Digitarians design and construct a parade float right here in the basement of our headquarters. Come Tuesday, we will take to the street to celebrate with our fellow San Diegans.

Today, Digitaria bid Project Coordinator, Laura Philip, a fond farewell. Laura brought enough spirit and energy to fill whichever part of the office her desk was moved to. She will be greatly missed, but on a brighter note, there are now openings in both Project Management and the Digitaria Britney Spears Fan Club.

The next generation of Internet video for the sports industry is upon us.  Full-screen, high definition streaming video is a reality that changes the sports landscape for good.

It has long been understood that Sports fans have been driving force behind the sales of new high-definition televisions.  Numerous surveys have shown that this adoption of HD televisions conclude that sports fans are more eager to adopt new technologies that quickly deliver sports content than non-sports fans.

“Sports fans are demanding the latest technologies to keep up with their favorite sports,” said Tim Herbert, CEA’s senior director of consumer research.  “Clearly a growing business is creating new programming to reach this affluent and influential demographic.”

Social Media is everywhere. It is on the tip of everyone’s tongue in one way or another. People tweeting this and Facebooking that. There are very few people who don’t have at least one account these days. But what was once used for fun and for connecting with friends can be used for business. And for those who are just finishing college, Social Media could be a good way to not only get a job, but to get the job you really want. This is your chance to market yourself. But, in a world where information is instant and we broadcast our lives to the world, we need to be conscious of what we’re putting out there.

Only 2 more days to vote for Digitaria to be at SXSW!!

This is Olive. Olive is quite an Internet savvy dog (Facebook page, Twitter account, etc), she knows what she is “talking” about. Typing isn’t really her strong point though. Since Olive’s lack of fingers prevents her from logging on to http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/ideas/index/interactive/q:Digitaria she wanted to make sure all of you vote!

Vote for Dan and Gilbert to speak at SXSW. If you don’t, it means that you don’t love puppies. And really, what kind of person doesn’t like puppies?

Today, I just happened to walk into this mini-mayhem of 85 people, 85 computers, 14 rooms, 2 floors and many speedy hands and feet. I thought I'd share a snippet of Digitaria's moving day with you through the eyes of my handy little iPhone. It certainly gave me a laugh!

When it Comes to Marketing Campaigns, HBO’s “True Blood” is Killing It!

Who would have thought something as classic as vampires would mix so flawlessly with something so new as an integrated marketing campaign? HBO certainly did when they set out to promote their new hit show “True Blood.” This is truly a case study for a marketing plan done right. Here's a background for those who have not yet seen the show: A synthetic blood drink has been invented that can sustain a vampire's thirst for blood. This technological advancement was so significant that vampires can now “come out of the coffin” and become members of society. Instead of a traditional marketing plan, True Blood creates an "in world" perspective. This is done through a vast array of social media, digital, and traditional advertising techniques but for the purposes of time and energy, I will focus on my favorites.

The Adventures of Adam: Volume 2 - The Choices We Make

In case you missed Volume 1: http://blogs.digitaria.com/blogs/adventures-adam-volume-1-intern-born In a time where jobs are scarce and competition is fierce, I am very fortunate to have found an opportunity at Digitaria. Which begs the question, how was I able to find such an invaluable internship when most of my contemporaries are left wondering what their future holds? To me, life is all about decisions. More often than not, I've found that choices made in passing are often the ones I look back on as defining moments in my personal journey. Rewind a month... I rolled out of bed like it was any other day. Stretch, brush teeth, grab a bite, check my email... wait a sec. SUBJ: READ ME. What's this? An email from my roommate. All caps. Ugh. This can't be good. My roommates only email me when I've either a.) done something horribly wrong or b.) been horribly wronged. I braced for the worst and clicked.
