Digitaria and Amazon bring the cloud to LA Live

March 24, 2010 by Reena Leone

Last week, Digitaria, in partnership with Amazon Web Services, held a Cloud Computing Mixer at ESPN Zone at LA Live. The event, co-sponsored with Datran Media and Sorenson Media facilitated an opportunity for clients, contacts, coworkers and friends to get together and discuss AWS and life in the cloud.

The cloud offers the ability to create rich, engaging experiences. It removes the barrier between the idea and the consumer. It allows you to think in terms of “what if?” instead of “what instead?”

Marketers can create entire campaigns that exist outside of their tradition web site and infrastructure. Marketers can more easily embrace other digital destinations such as mobile applications, digital signage, and long-tail blogs.

Marketers need a solution that answers the question “what if I could come up with ideas that aren’t limited by technological constraints?”

With live streaming Web events, online campaigns, viral videos and social media applications driving traffic to sites in waves, Web sites can become overloaded. The flexible and scalable virtual servers prevent sites from crashing by deploying as many servers as needed to deal with traffic spikes, then decommissioning them as traffic declines. Cloud computing is not only effective in helping sites deal with traffic spikes, but also extremely cost effective.

Digitaria has been very successful in implementing AWS for clients such as Hasbro, YouTube, and QUALCOMM.

The LA Live event was the first of many with Amazon Web Services.  If you’d like to know more please visit our Cloud Computing page or our Partner page.
