April 27, 2011 by Reena LeoneInterfaith Youth Core (IFYC) is an Official Webby Nominee in the Religion and Spirituality category. Through this nomination, IFYC also becomes eligible for the People’s Voice award: The former is voted on by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the latter invites the online community to decide who wins.
IFYC is on a mission to make social cooperation a social norm. Founded in 1998 by Eboo Patel, the interfaith advisor to President Barack Obama, IFYC fosters cooperation between religious groups primarily on college campuses to better the community. Through IFYC programming, various religious and secular individuals and groups learn about how to talk about interfaith cooperation, spread this ideal, and ultimately work together.
