Daytona International Speedway Recognized as Sitecore’s North American Site of the Year for Sports & Entertainment
San Diego, CA - Digitaria, a leading digital marketing and technology firm, together with International Speedway Corporation (ISC), the leading promoter of motorsports activities and owner/operator of 13 of the nation’s major motorsports facilities, has been named the North American Sitecore Site of the Year category winner in the Sports/Entertainment category.
Digitaria developed 12 new Web sites for each of the ISC track properties, most notably the Daytona International Speedway site, http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com. The site is aimed at helping fans "feel the experience" of NASCAR events as well as providing them with a valuable resource.
The Web site encompasses dynamic new fan experiences and effectively brings the racing experience to an online venue. In addition to unparalleled interactivity featuring rich media and a robust collection of imagery, video and audio content, racing fans are also able to purchase tickets and plan out their overall race weekend through the site.
"It has been an amazing experience working with ISC and the 12 tracks to launch their new integrated digital platform. It was important that we accounted for each individual track brand, fan demographic, and unique race day experience," said John Van Spyk, Digitaria Sports' General Manager. "The flexible and robust Sitecore CMS was a key component in allowing us to meet and exceed the clients interactive business objectives. With the implementation of Sitecore's Content Management System (CMS), Digitaria was able to create a robust and engaging site with content such as exclusive news, features, race day information and online ticket purchases.
The CMS framework provides a more streamlined process for the site’s publishers, as well as it allows fans to connect with the Daytona race day experiences.
The goal of the new site was to increase awareness and establish its legitimacy as a valuable resource for Daytona fans. Ultimately, ISC was looking to provide a richer and more effective experience for the fans, all while presenting them with the great ticket options to experience the event in person. The site is filled with highlights, fan zones, and commentary to not only engage users but to inform them as well.
“We’re proud of our site and the positive reviews it has garnered since its launch last year,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig said. “Our new site took months of planning and hard work by the staffs of Daytona International Speedway and International Speedway Corporation as well as Digitaria. We are proud of the new features and exclusive content that it provides to our race fans around the world.”
