Robyn Freye Joins Digitaria as Vice President of Marketing
Continuing its aggressive pursuit of A-List talent, marketing, technology and data company Digitaria announced today it has hired Pereira & O’Dell’s highly regarded director of business development Robyn Freye as vice president of marketing.
Ms. Freye has nearly a dozen years of agency experience in marketing, account direction and business development, working with Fortune 500 clients who demand creativity and constant innovation to stay ahead of the pack. Her key areas of expertise include CPG, technology, hospitality, retail, B2B, and financial. Ms. Freye was a critical catalyst in Pereira & O’Dell’s rapid growth in the past two years, as the independent shop won new business in 2012 from Mattel, Skype, and Dial, among others. Her new business performance was specifically cited in Advertising Age as one reason the agency was recently named to the publication’s esteemed “A-List.”
“I’ve known Robyn for years and always been impressed by her drive, her smarts and her charisma,” said Digitaria’s CEO, Daniel Khabie. “She has a proven process for new business that I’m confident will help Digitaria continue and escalate the expansion we’ve experienced since being acquired by WPP two years ago.”
As VP of marketing, Ms. Freye will be responsible for overhauling Digitaria’s marketing communications content and presentation, specifically targeting Fortune 100 and 500 clients, as well as working closely with the agency’s PR department to maximize coordinated external communications and speaking opportunities. She will also ramp up the agency’s relationships with search consultants, oversee an update of the firm’s marketing and business development materials, and implement processes to Digitaria’s pitch process and strategic planning to ensure all key touch points are better than the competition’s. Finally, she will seek to evolve Digitaria’s already successful relationship with JWT and across the WPP network to maximize opportunities and synergies.
Freye is the latest high-profile talent to join Digitaria, a JWT Company. The firm recently hired Mike Vaccaro from HUGE as chief client officer, and added WPP Fellow Tom Richardson from Ogilvy Shanghai as Head of Digital Product Innovation.
“I’ve wanted to get back to San Diego for years, but there’s never been a national agency with the talent and global reach that’s made it compelling enough to make the jump,” said Ms. Freye, a Southern California native and graduate of San Diego State University. “Digitaria is finally the agency I’ve been waiting for; I’m expecting great things to come from this.”
