National ADDY, Sports Marketing and San Diego Tech Exec of the Year All Within Reach

Digital marketing and technology firm Digitaria announced today that the company and its employees have been named finalists for a trio of upcoming awards.

Digitaria’s work with National Geographic’s Field Expedition: Mongolia has made them a National ADDY Awards finalist.  NFL 360 is a 2011 Sports Industry Awards nominee for 'Sports Website of the Year.’ Finally, the agency’s Chuck Phillips is a finalist for the San Diego Business Journal’s Chief Information Officer of the year.

From the San Diego Business Journal:

Kevin Chu went to bed at 15 minutes before midnight on April 20. His pager rang about an hour later, at 12:55 a.m. It was all the sleep he was going to get for the next 24 hours.

The pager told Chu, director of systems and infrastructure at Digitaria Interactive Inc., that servers for more than a half dozen client Web sites had gone down.

As it turned out, it was the failure of Amazon.com Inc.’s cloud storage unit- the fail- that drew national attention and brought down,
among others, the Foursquare site as well as Conde Nast Digital’s Reddit site.
