Shopify
Shopify is a hosted application that allows users to set up an online store to sell their goods. Applications include product organization, customizable storefronts, payment gateway, and the ability to track and respond to orders — all without the hassle of running a physical store.
Shopify comes packed with a wide variety of pre-designed templates that users can apply to their shop. New designs are added periodically to keep online stores looking fresh, and Shopify’s Theme Editor allows users to change the look of their store with an easy to use graphical interface.
Shopify implements Liquid, an open source template language software inline with a users theme’s HTML, allowing content display to the customer’s satisfaction. Vision is another application implemented fro designers who run on Windows and OS X, allowing designers to develop themes for Shopify stores right from the users’ desktop by stimulating how each template would look when used with a real shop. Vision essentially creates and tests a users theme.
